Welcome to our 16th Century timber framed pub where our olde-worlde exterior gives way to a fabulously fun and modern interior - setting the scene for you to enjoy our food, sample our range of beers, explore our wine list and delve into our gin collection.
We are on the border where Essex meets Cambridgeshire in the beautiful market town of Saffron Walden. We celebrate all that is great about our fantastic region – its people, provenance and personality.

EAT WITH US
Our menus are thoughtfully crafted and constantly evolve to reflect the best seasonal ingredients. Enjoy fantastic food prepared using local ingredients, where possible, to create timeless classics and innovative specials - all consciously designed dishes that encompass our guests varying tastes, from the meat loving to the gluten free diets, to the plant based.

Lunch is served from 12 noon to 3pm and dinner from 6pm to 10pm, Wednesday to Saturday. We also have a full menu all day on Sunday from 12 noon until 6pm, including our fabulous Sunday roasts.

DOGS WELCOME
Wagging tails will always be welcome through our door. So much so, that we have created a special dog menu, with your four-legged companion in mind.
Our team members are always on hand with doggy treats and tips for the best dog walks in our area.
